Through sharing her personal story and sporting career she will touch on themes such as motivation, resilience, and achievement, the keynote will focus on:
- Inspiration and Determination – Sharing her journey of overcoming a life-changing spinal injury and deciding to become a Paralympian. Her core message is often that “there’s nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it.”
- The Value of Sport – Discussing how sport, fitness, and teamwork had a positive impact on her life and helped her overcome obstacles
- Sharing her work in schools – She often leads sponsored fitness circuits for the pupils to encourage physical activity and an appreciation for health and fitness

Workshops
The benefits of Boccia – Boccia England
Led by staff from Boccia England, this workshop will give an introduction to the Paralympic sport of Boccia, explaining what it is, who it benefits and how it can be easily incorporated into a variety of school settings. It will explore the key physical, social, and mental wellbeing advantages of the sport, along with practical ideas for delivering inclusive sessions with minimal equipment or space.
Participants will then take part in a fun and interactive round-robin Boccia session, experiencing first-hand how the game can be adapted, differentiated, and used to promote teamwork, strategy, and enjoyment. Our aim is to inspire the next generation to lead more active, confident, and healthy lives by showcasing how inclusive sport can support both physical and mental wellbeing.
Sensory Circuits – Iain Mills, PE and Health Subject Lead at The Parkside School
This workshop will be delivered by Iain Mills, PE and Health Subject Lead at The Parkside School and highly experienced Senior Leader as well as former Youth Sports Trust Inclusion Lead for Norfolk. This session will equip teachers with practical strategies to help pupils regulate their sensory systems and become ready to learn. It will build understanding around ASC, emphasising the spectrum nature of autism and the diversity of individual needs. The session will also explore sensory processing with a focus on three key senses – proprioception, vestibular and tactile – and how these influence behaviour, attention, and engagement in the classroom.
Participants will leave with clear, actionable ideas for implementing and integrating sensory circuits into their school day, including ways these routines can be adapted to different settings and learners. It will also consider how sensory circuits can contribute to meeting EHCP targets, supporting pupils in developing regulation, confidence, and readiness for learning.
Physical support within a school setting – Able2B
The session will focus on what physical support is available and how this can be implemented within a school setting. We will look at understanding the physiological development and importance of supporting all our pupils. This session will examine all the different elements including strength, control, proprioception, self-belief, nutrition and repetition. This is no different for anyone else, including individuals with a disability.
