There is a recognition that teachers in special schools are thrust into leading colleagues and teams from the first day in the job. This day will create the space and time to reflect on what it means to be a high-performing leader and to develop the skills to lead your teams, alongside how to get the very best out of the people we work with.
Together we will look at the attributes of high-performing teams and how to get groups of individuals to achieve more than the sum of their parts. We will explore the importance and skills of effective line management including:
- Social and professional contracting
- Effective meetings
- Delegation
- Communication and better conversations
- Holding others to account.
What to expect
- Space and time to reflect on what you bring to leadership
- Interactive workshop with lots of opportunity for discussion and collaboration with colleagues
- Practical tools that you as teachers and leaders can take away and use the next day.
