The E-Learning Service: Alternative Provision in Norfolk

Guest Blog from our Annual Conference Sponsor: The E-Learning Service

Since 2003, The E-Learning Service has been a trusted provider of Alternative Provision in Norfolk, delivering high-quality online education to children and young people across all key stages. Our flexible, student-centred approach ensures that each learner receives tailored support designed to meet their individual needs, helping them to thrive academically and personally. We are fully audited by Norfolk County Council, guaranteeing that our practices consistently align with DfE regulations and uphold the highest standards of educational provision.

What’s included

Core Purpose and Impact

The service focuses on assisting students who face challenges in traditional educational settings. These challenges may include being in or returning to the school environment, preparation for exams, or achieving personal learning goals.

The E-Learning Service supports children and students who may:

  • have anxiety
  • have EBSNA
  • have SEMH needs
  • have autism
  • have chronic illnesses
  • have poor attendance
  • be at risk of exclusion.

We offer online, low-pressure, personalised, flexible learning aligned with school curricula, covering KS1&2 subjects, GCSEs, A-levels and special interests. Students access provision at home or in school.

Case Studies

I used to feel overwhelmed at school, but now I can learn in my own space. The flexibility and encouragement from my teachers have helped me thrive.

As someone with autism, I found traditional classrooms challenging. Online learning gives me the quiet, predictable environment I need to succeed.

Testimonials

I have become familiar with the work that the E-Learning Service is providing to pupils with medical needs and cannot praise it highly enough. The contact with teachers, feedback pupils receive and flexibility of learning is exceptional. Their dedicated service is providing a much needed educational lifeline to pupils who need it.”

Zac has been with the ELS since he was 7 years old and has been diagnosed with Autism with a Pathological Demand Avoidance profile; combined ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). E-Learning has allowed him to continue his education at home whilst he is unable to attend school (or leave home at all). He can learn in short bites, whilst feeling safe, regulated and in control, something he sadly struggles with in any school environment due to his diagnosis. The regular feedback on each lesson and the certificates awarded have also helped keep Zac engaged and inspired to try each lesson.
