Why join our Subject Expertise courses?
Following recent subject reports, Ofsted have recommended that schools should create a ‘systematic and continuous approach to developing staff expertise’ in those subjects. They recommend that leaders should ensure that teachers have ‘enough professional development opportunities to acquire a wide range of knowledge about the subject and that they also have opportunities to improve their pedagogical content knowledge.
The intended outcome of the VNET Subject Expertise series is twofold – to provide relevant subject knowledge on hot topics, for example, and to refine pedagogical approaches which are designed to achieve the curriculum intent. In turn, schools will be able to create a culture of high expectations where pupils’ love of the subject can flourish.
Each of our subject expertise series will include four twilight sessions led by experts in the subject, and are designed to equip primary subject leads with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their leadership role more confidently in school.
