What Does the New Ofsted Framework Mean for Me? A Guide for Teachers

Thursday, May 7, 2026 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This practical session will give teachers clarity and confidence about their role within the 2025 Ofsted Inspection Framework. It will translate the framework into classroom reality, showing how inspectors recognise effective teaching through pupils’ learning, routines and experiences over time.

The session will focus on how secure foundational knowledge underpins progress for all pupils, and how adaptive teaching supports inclusion without creating additional workload. Teachers will leave with a clear understanding of what matters most in lessons, how inspectors gather evidence, and how everyday practice contributes to inspection outcomes.

Rather than offering reassurance alone, the session provides concrete guidance on aligning classroom practice with inspection expectations while remaining focused on good teaching.

By the end of the session, staff will be able to:

  • Understand how inspectors evaluate foundational knowledge, learning over time and pupil outcomes
  • Recognise how adaptive teaching supports inclusion and achievement in everyday practice
  • Identify which aspects of normal classroom routines contribute to inspection evidence
  • Understand how lesson visits and pupil conversations are used to build inspection evidence
  • Focus confidently on teaching priorities without creating unnecessary workload
