This half-day session will set out protocols and explore effective review activities, ensuring alignment with elements of the new inspection framework. The focus will be on visits to schools that wish to review key areas of school improvement. The session will cover:
- Rationale for Peer Review – Understanding its role in continuous school improvement
- Protocols, including safeguarding and confidentiality – Ensuring a safe and professional review process
- Framework for Peer Review – Structuring the process effectively within the new inspection framework
- Questioning – Developing effective lines of enquiry.
Activities:
- Identifying sources of evidence
- Speaking to leaders and middle leaders
- Evaluating impact
- Sharing best practice and learning from each other.
Focus Areas Aligned with the New Inspection Framework are to be confirmed, but may include: Personal Development and Well-being or Behaviour and Attitudes.
At the end of the session triads will be confirmed and schools will work collaboratively to review an agreed focus area in each other’s settings.
