Declining birth rates – What does this mean for schools?
Declining birth rates are reshaping the education landscape, with significant implications for school places, funding, and long-term sustainability. This session will help governors understand the national picture and what it means for schools across Norfolk.
The focus will be on the strategic role of governing bodies; exploring how governors can use data and local context to make informed decisions about the future of their school, including their role in setting and reviewing Planned Admission Numbers (PAN) and contributing to wider place planning. Considering the wider landscape is key to supporting a network of schools that remains sustainable and viable for the future. Governors will leave with an increased confidence to make informed, and sometimes difficult, decisions in the best interests of both their school and the wider community.
The governor forum is a vibrant group that meets termly. It is a safe space to network with fellow governors. We cover hot topics and provide CPD for governors on different topics such as working strategically, monitoring and keeping up to date with a rapidly changing landscape.
