VNET Secondment Programme: Aspiring Leaders 25/26

This programme is designed to provide a secondment opportunity for senior or middle leaders aspiring to headship or deputy headship within VNET schools in Summer 2026.

The benefits to you and your school

A secondment is a fantastic opportunity for host schools and secondees, it provides:

  • Professional growth and development of leadership skills and capacity
  • Broader experience for career development and progression
  • Strengthened ability to adapt to diverse challenges in different school settings
  • Sharing of expertise and best practices across schools to improve teaching, leadership, and school outcomes
  • Strong collaborative partnerships between Norfolk schools to support overall school improvement.

Who can apply?

Open to all VNET schools, with a focus on middle and senior leaders aspiring to headship and deputy headship.

When will it take place?

The Secondments will take place in w/c 22nd June 2026

How does it work?

  • The VNET Secondment Programme establishes clear expectations, with distinct goals and responsibilities
  • Secondees and host schools sign the VNET Secondment Programme Terms and Conditions, confirming terms and mutual commitments
  • Clear professional development objectives are established for each placement with mentoring for secondees
  • The programme ends with a brief, focused review and reflection post-secondment to ensure impact.
