The Writing Professional Community will be facilitated and supported by Emma Adcock, Training and Development Director.
The Writing Professional Community will:
- Support leaders in the identification of priority writing objectives, which need to be secured, from prior year groups before new content can be taught
- Outline immediate teaching priorities to accelerate progress in Y1 – Y6
- Support leaders in best practice in the teaching of Writing, Grammar and Spelling.
- Support leaders in the assessment of writing for years 1 – 6, for the expected standard and also for greater depth.
During sessions, subject leaders will be provided with a piece of professional reading linked to the focus of the session.
Each session will also include an opportunity to network with other subject leaders and to showcase resources that are working well to support the teaching of Writing.
