The SEND Professional Community will be facilitated and supported by Fyfe Johnston, VNET Associate
The SEND Professional Community will:
Provide an opportunity for sharing best practice, to drive forward continuous improvement and ensure best outcomes for children, pupils and students with SEND. The agenda will be driven by the group and in response to local and national issues and trends. The group will use evidence from their own schools, effective methodology from other sources and provisions, and by research undertaken by the professional members of the group.
At the first meeting we will establish what the SEND Professional Community will examine throughout the year, topics may include:
-
Linking performance management to national trends in SEND need
-
Developing a database of excellence for advice
-
Articulating the inclusion journey of your school
-
Ensuring pupils are prepared for the next stage of their education, employment or training
Our SEND Professional Community will develop a wide network of supportive SEND specialist colleagues. The programme will react to the changing nature of local and national SEND needs. Our community is being built to support the needs of its members and ensure high quality professional development.
Guest speakers will be invited to share their expertise with members of the community.
