Leading writing in a primary school is a vast undertaking and, with the increased emphasis that is placed on leadership from the Ofsted Inspection, it has become increasingly demanding.

This project will provide English/Writing Leaders with practical guidance to help leaders to develop a clear understanding of how to improve the teaching of writing in your schools.

The project will be led by Emma Adcock, principal consultant at VNET Education CIC. Emma is an experienced English Consultant who has been supporting Norfolk primary schools for fifteen years.

At the start of the project, a baseline assessment will be completed by all primary English/Writing leaders. The baseline will be repeated at the end of the project.

This four-part project will explore the skills required for the effective leadership of writing. During this project, leaders will:

• Reflect on their own practice.
• Guide leaders to consider the actions they need to take to develop high-quality writing practice in their own schools
