The OFSTED Phone call: A Session for Headteachers
Tuesday, November 15, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Virtual Event
Senior HMI Kim Pigram in her recent briefing to VNET members emphasised the importance of the initial Ofsted phone call for headteachers as an opportunity to explain their curriculum and where the school is in their curriculum journey.
This conversation sets the scene for the inspection and for the deep dives that will be used to evaluate the school’s curriculum and the quality of education the school provides.
This VNET coaching session, led by Maria Curry, ex-HMI, aims to
- Ensure leaders are aware of the different aspects that the conversation may cover.
- Support leaders in clearly, accurately, and concisely articulating the school’s story in relation to the curriculum so as to make best use of the phone call time both for leaders and inspectors.
- Help leaders to reflect on what information they will need to have available during inspection to evidence the statements they make about the curriculum.
- Provide an opportunity for leaders to reflect on the quality of their curriculum through discussion with an ex-HMI.
This event is for VNET members only.
This session will be recorded. The recording and resources will be available on our courses platform. After the event you will receive an email with the link.
