Virtual Event Virtual Event

These four sessions, led by Jane Ryder, are designed to equip primary subject leads with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their leadership role more confidently in school. The elements of high-quality teaching and learning in Art will be explored and practical approaches to support colleagues’ development in teaching Art more effectively will be shared. There will be opportunities to consider what making good progress looks like and participants will explore the key skills involved.

The sessions aim to:

  • Allow Art Coordinators to connect with other teachers and share ideas
  • Explore ways to ensure that the Art curriculum engages and inspires pupils
  • To develop an awareness that Art is all around us
  • Consider what learning progress looks like in Art and how to assess pupils’ knowledge and skills.

Jane is an experienced teacher and the Arts and Culture Leader at Sidegate Primary, an Artsmark Platinum school in Ipswich. She is a Fellow of the College of Teaching, Director of Arts and Culture for The Active Learning Trust, is also a CALSA and an ELE. Passionate about using the arts to enhance learning across the curriculum, Jane champions the arts as well as providing opportunities for teachers to develop skills and confidence to deliver arts-related subjects in their own classrooms.
