Great Teaching – Formative Assessment/Questions with a Maths Focus

This is the third session in a series led by Rachael Wilson, experienced primary teacher and Deputy Director of Norfolk Research School. The sessions will enable teachers to refresh their understanding of how pupils learn so they can tailor their lesson to suit these needs.

Session 3. Formative Assessment/Questions with a Maths Focus
This session will support you to develop research-informed approaches to refine teacher understanding of how to use effective questioning and Formative Assessment to accurately and effectively adapt teaching to pupils’ needs. We’ll review key Guidance from the EEF and NCETM, and look at practical ways to use this to minimise gaps forming and really move children on within and across lessons.
