These sessions, led by Jane Ryder (session 1) Andy Griffiths (sessions 2, 3 and 4), are designed to equip primary subject leads with the skills and knowledge to fulfil their leadership role more confidently in school. The elements of high quality teaching and learning in Design and Technology will be explored and practical approaches to support colleagues’ development in teaching DT more effectively will be shared. There will be opportunities to consider what making good progress in DT looks like and participants will explore the key skills involved.
The sessions aim to:
- allow DT Coordinators to connect with other teachers and share ideas
- explore ways to ensure that the DT curriculum engages and inspires pupils
- to develop an awareness that design is all around us
- consider what learning progress looks like in DT and how to assess pupils’ knowledge and skills.
