Dealing with Whistleblowing

What is the difference between whistleblowing and grievance? Would you, as a leader, know what to do if you were faced with a situation where a member of staff had whistle blown about something in school?
Just as dealing with complaints, whistleblowing must be dealt with both sensitively and effectively. The course will establish the differences between a grievance and whistleblowing so that staff may be guided correctly and that policies are executed impartially but effectively. The course is led by Ruth McGlone, ex-headteacher with extensive leadership experience.
Training Objectives
To have a clear understanding on the differences between Whistleblowing and Grievances.
Ensure that leaders have the most up to date guidance on policy and procedures when faced with a whistleblowing incident. Be able to deal with a whistleblowing incident both effectively and robustly.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will have the confidence to deal with a whistleblowing situation by ensuring that the correct and most up to date policies and procedures are in place.
Leaders can ensure that Staff are aware of the differences between a grievance and a whistleblowing incident, ensuring they follow the correct policy and procedure.
