Breaking the Glass Ceiling of Good – Session 1 of 3
Thursday, February 3, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
Being a senior leader in school following a global pandemic is an extremely challenging role. Sonia Gill, Director of Heads Up, is offering a series of three sessions to give you all the tools to put you on the right track for success. These sessions represent fantastic value for training that VNET members have found invaluable in the past.
These sessions will help senior leaders to strike a balance between setting high expectations for the school whilst offering the leadership, support, and kindness staff need to ensure the school is thriving.
Session 1: Breaking the Glass Ceiling of Good
It’s hard to move a school from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’, but even harder to move a school from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’.
What gets you to “good” will not get you to “outstanding”.
The journey to good and the journey to outstanding are qualitatively different. Getting to good is about compliance, systems and making sure a demanding list of actions are done every day, it’s no small feat.
Getting to outstanding is about creating a high-performing culture, something most leaders are not adequately trained to do; it’s the reason most schools struggle to break the glass ceiling of good.
In this session you will be provided with practical and fundamental advice to help you on your journey to building a genuinely outstanding school:
- Common problems faced when moving from ‘Good’ to better than good
- Key changes you need to make to enable the shift
- Practical tips you can take away and use immediately
Audience: Headteachers, deputy heads, senior leaders.
Objective: Help you build a genuinely outstanding school.
A recording of the session and resources will be available for your use in school.
VNET Members: The cost per session is £150+VAT or £400+VAT or 4 credits for all three sessions.
