Paddy Venner, Life Coach and author of boys’ course Man By Choice, and life skills course Activ8, joins us to discuss the loss of purpose and role modelling in many boys’ lives, the social constructs that can be seen as disadvantaging boys and at statistics and research on what impact this is having.

Paddy says “Our boys are in free fall – the statistics point towards a need for greater attention to be paid to the boys in our schools. 1 in 4 UK primary and junior schools have no male staff and 80% have less than three male staff, and boys are looking for role models. Boys are looking for definition and purpose and I see again and again how boys crave the attention of a trusted man, and an opportunity just to be in the company of a trusted and safe adult male, to simply be and talk. This talk serves as a discussion starter and an idea presenter that I believe is timely and so very important.”
